Conkers is kicking the weekend off on Friday night with a throwback to the 1980s music scene.

If you were there, and you remember the tunes well, then The Zoots - Sounds of the 80s is for you.

The Zoots will keep you Hungry Like The Wolf, as they play the floorfillers, party anthems, classic pop and power ballads that were Top Of The Pops, from the acts that mattered – Wham, The Jam, Queen, Bon Jovi, Tiffany, Duran Duran, Madness and many, many more.

The Zoots are five singers and five multi instrumentalists with a choreographed show which, according to The Stage, is 'Impressive' and 'impossible not to like!

You can find more details HERE.

The Lyric Rooms has its regular comedy gig tonight (Thursday).

Opening the night will be comedian, actor, writer, BBC Radio presenter and juggler Steve Royle, who came thirrd in the final of Britain's Got Talent 2020 and previously performed as a warm-up act on the Royal Variety performance.

Topping the bill is Dave's Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee 2022 Josh Pugh, who has appeared on 'Hypothetical', 'Mock The Week' and 'Question Team' and supported Joe Lycett on tour.

Also appearing will be Eleanor Tiernan who abandoned her civil engineering training to become a stand-up and, completing the line-up is is the hilarious half Cockney, half Irish, half charmer, Jake Steers.

More details are HERE.

The White Hart has two bands on this weekend, with The Stop Startz playing the Market Street pub on Friday.

Saturday, sees Rainer playing live that evening.

Saturday sees more pop-up food at Brew with Nachos Street Food dropping in this weekend.

And, Brew's regular Lazy Sunday Afternoon session is back again.

This week, it will be Rosie Faith playing live.

Just slightly outside the Ashby area, but still worth a visit, is the Sharpe's Pottery Craft Fair in Swadlincote.

It will be open from 11am-2pm.

The fair has a variety of stallholders selling beautiful handcrafted items.

It is a lovely place to visit with a outdoor play area and an on-site cafe.
