The Lyric Rooms in Ashby has a top night of comedy tonight (Thursday) with the Funhouse Club.

Funhouse Comedy Club returns to the Lyric Rooms for another night full of laughter.

Topping the bill is Perrier Award Winner, author, broadcaster and comedian Dominic Holland, father of Spiderman actor Tom Holland.

He has made numerous appearances on radio and TV including 'Have I Got News For You', 'The Clive James Show', 'The Royal Variety Show' and 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks'. 

His talent for spotting people's eccentricities and mixing in the fine-points make his observations quite unique and his appealing stage persona has the audience immediately entranced.

Opening the night will be Edinburgh Festival 2017 best newcomer award nominee, writer, voiceover artist and comedian the immediately likeable Chris Washington, who has appeared on 'Mock The Week' and supported Jason Manford on tour. A former postman he uses his Northern charm along with his hilarious tales to entertain the crowds.

Also appearing will be the clever and amusing character act, Mad Ron.

The Consent to Write Series begins its 2024 programme this weekend in Blackfordby at the Old School Room.

All levels are welcomed and provide a space for writers to grow.

Tonight (Thursday), the Craft Beer bar in Ashby has an Open Mic Night.

This will be hosted by Warren Stanford who will be welcoming musicians and music lovers too.
