The Jake Leg Jug Band are coming to the Venture Theatre Jazz Club this Saturday evening.

Jake Leg are a good time happy band who play a mixture of blues, gospel, ragtime music.

They put their own twist on sounds of the 1920s and 30s, with songs of betrayal, murder, gambling, drinking and redemption.

The audience will witness instrumental virtuosity and, above all, have fun. The music starts at 8.00pm.

Ashby School is staging a production of Sister Act, starting next Wednesday and running through to the following Saturday.

The Ashbeian Musical Theatre Group is the only one in Ashby and has been around since 1962.

This is a great musical with fantastically uplifting songs and plenty of comedy.

Ashby BID has organised a Lunar New Year/Half Term Trail which runs until February 29.

The BID is encouraging families to seek out and bring to life, using their smartphone, some very cute and colourful dragons!

The safari allows you to search for each creature by visiting locations around the town and collecting ten lunar dragons.

When you find a poster, scan the QR code to add the mystical creature to your collection.

Once all 10 are found, a free e-book, which tells the story of their quest and you will be rewarded with a completion certificate.
