WHAT'S ON IN ASHBY IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY OUR MAIN SPONSOR THE LYRIC ROOMS

This weekend's Ashby events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities - hopefully there is something for everyone.

Don't forget, you can advertise your event for free at Ashby Nub News - and reach thousands of our readers by doing so.

Whether it is a gig, a comedy night, a pub quiz or maybe your monthly society meeting, just fill in the form HERE and we will list it for you in our What's On section.

The Ashby Show returns on Sunday - with around 15,000 people expected to attend the event at Cattow's Farm in Heather.

There are plenty of highlights for visitors, with the Red Devils Parachute team and a Lancaster Bomber flypast planned, provided the weather behaves itself.

As well as that, The Derwent Valley Gun Dog Display Team, a Vintage & Classic Car Display and the Rearsby Lodge Quadrille Team will all be there.

You can find out more details HERE.

The Timber Festival is back at Feanedock near Moira and returns for its fifth year in the National Forest.

Timber is all about celebrating the power of nature through live music, talks, workshops, wellness sessions and more. It was the first ever festival in the UK to focus on forests and nature.

Music includes a headline set from The Go! Team, plus Keston Cobblers Club, Katherine Priddy and more. Actor Shobna Gulati (Coronation Street, Dinner Ladies) is a guest on a live recording of our podcast Wilderness Tracks, Poet Laureate Simon Armitage is DJing in a treehouse DJ booth, and there is a unique spa experience with a sauna and ice plunge pool in the middle of the woods.

Day and weekend tickets are still available and you can find out more HERE.

If the first week of Wimbledon has whetted your appetite for the game, then Ashby Castle Tennis Club has an open day this Saturday.
