Funhouse Comedy and Curry Night at The Lyric Rooms

The Lyric Rooms in Ashby is once again holding their popular Funhouse Comedy and Curry Night, featuring familiar faces from the comedy world.

With comedians Ignacio Lopez, Jarred Christmas and Sally-Anne Hayward making appearances on Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week and 8 out of 10 Cats, audiences will be in a safe pair of hands. The night will be compered by award-winning comedian Spiky Mike.

The show will be served up with a delicious curry meal.

Packington Village Show

'Polish your potatoes, perfect your preserves and finesse your floral displays because the 82nd Annual Village Show is nearly here!

On Saturday 6th September, the Packington Horticultural Society is back with their annual village show.

With categories ranging from homegrown vegetables and vibrant flowers to traditional crafts and homemade drinks, there is a huge variety to get stuck in with. There will also be opportunities for children to get involved too, with hand-decorated biscuits, Lego creations and more.

Packington Horticultural Society 82nd Annual Village Show

Sunday Soireé with St Helen's Church

Join St Helen's Church for a night for choral evensong on Sunday 7th September, followed by refreshments.

This will then be followed by Music for Two Pianos, performed by Jeremy Kimber and Sue Field, including the works of Shostakovich, Bach, Rachmaninov, Poulenc and Milhaud.

Entry to his event if free, with refreshments provided.

Cider and Sausage Festival at Tollgate Brewery

The Milking Parlour at Tollgate Brewery, Calke is holding their very own Cider and Sausage Festival across this weekend.

The festivities start on Friday 5th September, running all weekend until 6pm on Sunday 7th September.
