What's on in Ashby this weekend: Ashby Show, Moorestock, Wedding Showcase and more

Ashby Show
The Ashby Show is returning to Cattow's Farm this Sunday 13th July with a great selection of local agriculture, music, food and crafts on display.
The main ring has a wide variety of events, including Young Farmer Tug of War, Gun Dogs, Stannage Stunt Team, a Vintage Tractor parade and modern machinery display.
On 'The Village Green,' there will be stalls showcasing traditional crafts and even a return visit from Show favourite - the giant tortoises.
The rest of the show will have great local food stalls, hands on activities and sports to try, live music throughout the day as well as live stock shows and demonstrations.

Moorestock at the Sir John Moore Foundation
The Sir John Moore Foundation in Appleby Magna is holding 'Moorestock' on Friday 11th July.
Live music from The Perfect Numbers and The Purple Banned, plus support will be accompanying a great night of dancing, dad jokes and fancy dress.
Boogie on down like it's the Swingin' Sixties with bands kicking off at 7pm in the hall and The Cellar Bar opening from 6pm.

Tour of St Helen's Churchyard
As part of this year's Festival of Archaeology, a guided tour of St Helen's Church will be taking place from 2pm on Saturday 12th July.
This fascinating tour will include stories of the notable people buried in the churchyard, as well as the fascinating take of the body snatchers and interesting insights into what we can learn about a church from studying the outside.

Wedding Showcase at The Lyric Rooms
Ashby's Lyric Rooms are hosting a Summer Wedding Showcase to give couples and their loved ones the opportunity to explore their beautiful wedding venue and meet the team.
Running between 11am and 1pm on Saturday 12th July, this event will show off the venue's stunning new Chapel and Main Hall.

63rd Annual Overseal Parade and Gala
On 12th July, Overseal's annual Parade and Gala is taking place throughout the village.
New for this year is the Best Decorated House competition, accompanied by the Parade through the Village from 1pm, ending at 1.45pm at the recreation ground.
The opening ceremony will then take place at 2pm with awards given for the Best Decorated House and Photographic Competitions. The popular fancy dress parade will also be judged with a cash prize.
The festivities will continue throughout the day on both recreation grounds, with a bake sale, local stalls, live music and classic car show.
