The return of one of the biggest open air festivals on the calendar, and an evening of jazz, are among the highlights in Ashby this weekend.

Ashby Food Gusto Festival makes its return on Saturday and Sunday - after a three-year gap.

The planned 2020 and 2021 events were cancelled due to the Covid pandemic.

So that makes the weekend event all the more special - with a wide range of food and drink on offers.

The advice seems to be not to eat before you head down to the Bath Grounds, which is where the event is being hosted.

You can find out more details HERE.

Ashby's Venture Theatre is holding another of its Jazz Club nights on Saturday evening.

Emily Bacon's Good Time Jazz Gang are playing live at the North Street venue.

They are a band hailing from Lincolnshire who play at many jazz festivals.

The band specialises in New Orleans music as played by the great George Lewis.

You can find out more HERE.

Ashby Castle Lawn Tennis Club is holding an Open Day on Saturday where people can come and see behind the scenes.

Free tennis coaching and membership offers are among the attractions on offer.

It will be a family fun day out and you can find more details HERE.

Brew in Market Street has a gin tasting session on Saturday afternoon.

Gin Distiller, Emma, will guide you through the evolution of gin and growth of Burleighs followed by a tutored tasting of the Burleighs range.

Tickets are £15 and include a Burleighs G&T on arrival, sampling of the Burleighs range and a talk on the history of gin.

You can pop in to Brew to purchase your tickets or send them a message online.

More details are HERE.

REMEMBER, if you want to list your event for FREE with Ashby Nub News, you can do so from our What's On page.
