The Hello Heritage Festival fortnight gets under way today (Saturday) with a series of events in the Ashby area designed to raise awareness of local history and culture.

Moira Furnace has a double header to launch it with events today (Saturday) and a craft fair tomorrow (Sunday).

Measham Museum is having an Open Day today.

The home of the 'Measham Tea Pots', this museum is housed in an original railway station.

You can find it at Manning Terrace, High Street in Measham.

Ashby Museum in North Street has a display of the history of the National Infant School – later Ashby Church of England School - today (Saturday) and next Saturday, 10.30am-3.30pm.

Over at Breedon on the Hill, you can see Breedon Lives.

An Immersive performance of characters from Breedon's past including monologues from St Hardulph and the mistress of the fifth Earl Ferrers.

The Packington Village Show is also happening today (Saturday).

There is plenty of live music on offer in the area as well.

Tonight (Saturday) Conkers has AC/DC and The Jam tribute acts on stage.

The Jamm'd and Live Wire are playing live at Conkers
Fans of both bands will be interested in seeing Live Wire and The Jamm'd.

In Ashby itself, two pubs have live music tonight (Saturday).

The White Hart plays host to The Lost Boys - details are HERE.

And the Bowling Green has The Dead Bandits - details of that gig are HERE.

In Boundary, the Greyhound is the venue for Murder of Crows tonight (Saturday).
