This weekend marks the return of the district-wide 'Hello Heritage' event!

We love this event and are proud to be a part of it. This year, we will be opening the museum for free over the 3 weekends alongside launching our very exciting new Audio Tours!!! Funded by money from The Royal Society and their Places of Science grant scheme, these talking pens will guide you through the furnace's 200+ year history using voices from the past and all for just £1.

We will also have out 3 new 'Heritage on your Doorstep' information boards giving you some information on places on site you might not be so familiar with. See the museum for a map to guide you to these places.

Oh, and there's the craft fair this Sunday 4th September, and a Furnace Motor Club on Tuesday 13th September.

So, just because we are now closed during the week doesn't mean there is nothing going on! Don't forget, when the museum is open you can pick up a hot drink from £1.50 along with a selection of cakes and ice creams. Every penny spent in our museum is put back into it to continue to look after and improve the grounds and the furnace itself.
