What's on in Ashby this weekend: Two-day Christmas Fair Food Gusto event returns to Market Street

The festive season gets under way this weekend with the two-day Ashby Food Gusto Christmas Fair.
After being cancelled last year due to the Covid pandemic, the event is back this year in Market Street - and it is free for everyone.

Road closures
Market Street and Brook Street will be closed for event from Saturday morning (6am) until Sunday evening (7pm).
There will be diversions in place and drivers have been warned to expect delays.
Main event
The Ashby Food Gusto Christmas Fair is on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th December.
You can get into the Christmas spirit by nibbling your way around the food-filled Market Street full of hot food, drink and gift Ideas from local and regional food producers and artisans, all while listening to great local entertainment.How the weekend takes shape on Saturday and Sunday
Saturday - 10.30 event starts- Hot food all day
- Food and drink producers
- Artisan crafts producers
- Children's rides
- A very special Ashby Pantomime starring various characters such as Buttons and Peter Pan
- Main Stage community performances organised by Ashby de la Zouch Town Council
- Official switch on of main tree, sponsored by Fisher's Solicitors, and snowflake finale around 4.30.
- Event ends 5pm
- Come for breakfast, Sunday lunch or afternoon tea
- Cheer on the Santa Fun Runners in town
- Great food and drink Producers
- Artisan crafts producers
- Children's Rides
- Music by Sincerely Yours, a 40s/50 and 60s hits duo
- Event ends 4.30pm.
