What's on in Ashby this weekend

Sport plays a huge part in this weekend's events round up for the Ashby area.

Ashby Ivanhoe FC are hoping to take advantage of the international weekend which means no Premier League or Championship games.

They host Dudley Sports in a Midland League game at the NFU Ground in Lower Packington Road tomorrow (Saturday).

Also on Saturday, Ashby Leisure Centre in Hood Park has a night of boxing tomorrow.

Motiv8Studio in Ashby are organising No Mercy - an evening of championship boxing.

A British title, A 5 nations title, A central area title, a Midlands area title and two Midlands title eliminators with a full supporting undercard are all on the bill.

But away from the sports scene, it is also a busy weekend at Brew in Market Street.

The bar will be hosting its usual Lazy Sunday Afternoon session with Chris Baldwin.

But, on Saturday, there are two other events - starting off at 12.30 with Meet the Rum Makers with local producer Lazydog.

Come and meet Lauren and Matt from Lazydog Rum at Brew on Market Street in Ashby.

After that, it will be The Travelling Taverna Street Food from 4-8pm.
