Weather to rise above 30 degrees in third heatwave of year
By Grace Kennington 6th Jul 2026
Following intense heat hitting the UK in June, Ashby will experience it's third heatwave of the year this week, with temperatures estimated to hit above thirty degrees.
Starting Monday 6 July, the heatwave is expected to last until Sunday 12 July, with daily temperatures reaching 32 degrees on Thursday 9 and Friday 10 July.
According to the Met Office, 'Conditions are expected to be less humid than during June's heatwave, with lower peak temperatures and fewer exceptionally warm nights.
'Parts of the UK are expected to experience the third heatwave of the year this week as an area of high pressure remains centred nearby.
'This will bring extensive sunshine and light winds to many southern areas, allowing temperatures to build steadily through the week.'
According to Met Office Deputy Chief Forecaster Steven Keates, 'Unlike the May and June heatwaves, we are not expecting this heatwave to be record breaking.
'Temperatures this week are not expected to reach the highs we witnessed last month.'
The Met Offices advises people take 'sensible precautions' in the heat, including staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun during the hottest part of the day, and checking on vulnerable friends, family and neighbours.
