STORME Hub Eco Gym is offering a free four-week boot camp programme in Ashby while plans to open their new base in Tournament Way have been delayed.

STORME is bringing a revolutionary new facility to Ashby - but the Coronavirus pandemic means that the opening has been put back to early next year.

However, the gym organisers say they want give something back to the community - completely free of charge.

The boot camp starts this Saturday at Prior Park Road, the field opposite the Bath Grounds (LE65 1BL) at 11am.

The STORME team have given more information on social media and say: "With our hub plans being delayed, we have decided to offer a four week STORME boot camp.

"STORME wants to give something back to the community during this time, something for friends or family to enjoy! Completely free.

"ALL participants must register and book on using the link below prior to attending, if you do not then you won't be able to attend, due to track and trace: Register and Book.

"This group session is designed using some interesting bits of equipment!

"Tyres, ropes, barrels, cargo, nets

"Definitely one to try and not to be under estimated!"

STORME was given the go-ahead by Ashby de la Zouch Town Council for their new facility at a meeting in February Council approves groundbreaking new Eco gym for Ashby.

At that meeting, Julian Orme, a personal fitness trainer in Ashby who is behind the plans, explained what the new facility would offer and how it would benefit the community.

He told the committee members at the time: "We are hoping to open a facility which could cater for families, looking after young children while we exercise and be a place for the community to meet and socialise.

"It will be the first eco-powered gym in the district, the only spa facility in Ashby.

"Our ethos is health and well being - and we are trying to promote this from a very young age, from age nought in soft play, to people in later life where they can still take part in group fitness sessions.

"Our focal point is with the interaction with coaches and staff, we make sure you never feel alone."
