North West Leicestershire District Council launches new grant after raising £20k through Community Lottery

Since its launch in August 2024, the North West Leicestershire Community Lottery has raised £20,0000 in the central fund.
Constituted groups and charities within North West Leicestershire will now be able to apply for grants of up to £750.
Each year there will be a different focus of the grant, with this year's key themes being:
- Building community spirit and encouraging local engagement,
- Run youth activities and projects,
- Support disability groups and promote inclusivity.
In addition to the central fund, £15,000 has been raised through ticket sales since the launch of the Community Lottery.
Speaking about the lottery and grants, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change at NWLDC, Councillor Michael Wyatt said: 'I am thrilled to see the North West Leicestershire Community Lottery reach this incredible milestone in only its first year.
'This achievement is a testament to the generosity and community spirit of our residents.
'The funds raised will provide vital support to local groups and charities, enabling them to continue their invaluable work. We encourage all eligible organisations to apply for these grants and help us make a positive impact on our community.'
