Ashby gym trainer Connor Chamberlain went through a two-hour 'revenge' leg waxing session to raise money for the LOROS charity.
Connor took on the daunting challenge at Fitness Republic in Market Street.
The fundraiser was in memory of the gym's former colleague, Liz Toll, who sadly passed away after being diagnosed with cancer last year.
Gym owners Sarah and Simon Pellecchia have a number of other events planned during the year - with last Friday's session helping to take the amount raised went past the £1,000 mark.
While Connor's pain threshold was severely tested - as gym members who usually get put through their paces got their own back by tearing off a strip or two.
Connor, who has worked at Fitness Republic for around three years, said: "It was a painful day!
"Some of the ladies who I train have been in to pull a wax strip.
"For all the pain I put them through, they put me through it - they were getting their revenge.
"I think Sarah suggested it as a joke, and I just ran with it.
"But there's amazing amount of money been raised, which will go straight to LOROS in memory of Liz.
"It makes it all worth it.
"In the meantime, I hope my leg hair grows back in time for my holiday!"
Sarah spoke about the reasons behind the fundraising effort.
She said: "Liz used to work with us here, but she was sadly diagnosed with cancer in the middle of last year.
"Then, she went to LOROS in December and spent her last few weeks there.
"After that, we decided as a team we'd raise money for LOROS all year, with different events.
"Connor was the first event and now we'll carry it on."
You can support Connor's leg-waxing effort - and donate towards LOROS - by following this link to Fitness Republic's fundraiser HERE.
LOROS is a Leicester-based charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible.
Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community, based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
Sarah added: "We also plan to do 24-hour, non-stop, classes with live DJs.
"Then we're working alongside Liz's sister - who came along to pull a few strips - and we'll also be doing an open water swim."
