Upcoming road closures around East Midlands airport

Travellers to and from East Midlands Airport (EMA) face road closures later this month. Warnings are in place that access from the main route to the airport is set to be affected.
Leicestershire County Council has issued the warning ahead of works for a long stretch of the A453 Ashby Road which is the main route to EMA. The county council says it is set to close for carriageway repairs.
The works are set to shut one of the entrances to the site along with multiple approaches. Diversions will be in place via the A42 and A453 for public safety, the highways authority added.
The closure will be in place between the Pegasus Roundabout and the DHL Roundabout, the county council said. Because of this, travellers will not be able to access Ashby Road from Grimes Gate or Green Lane.
Entry to EMA will be maintained from both the Pegasus and DHL roundabouts. The closures will be in place overnight for one night.
The county council said the closure will be in effect between 8pm and 6am on Friday 26 September.
