All the upcoming meetings for Ashby's councils in January

There are a series of meetings coming up for Ashby Town Council, North West Leicestershire District Council and Leicestershire County Council, discussing matters affecting Ashby residents. 

There are three Ashby Town Council meetings taking place at Legion House, this January, which will be open to members of the public to attend, and also watch online via Zoom. Previous meetings can be watched on the Ashby Town Council YouTube Channel. 

On 12 January from 6.30pm, there will be a Finance and Events Committee, followed by a Planning and Transportation Committee Meetings on 19 January at 6.30pm at Legion House. 

There will also be a Full Town Councillor Surgery on 26 January from 6.30pm at Legion House. 

For North West Leicestershire District Council, there are four meetings scheduled for January. The agendas will be available on the NWLDC website. Previous meetings are available to watch online. 

On 13 January, NWLDC will hold a Cabinet meeting at 5pm, discussing the increase of council tax for 2026/7, the purchase of a property in Kegworth, the District Council's environmental policy and the demolition of fire damaged housing. 

On 21 January, a Planning Committee meeting will take place at 6pm and on 22 January a meeting of the Corporate Scrutiny Committee. 

There will also be a Local Plan Committee meeting at 6pm on 28 January. 

As for Leicestershire County Council, there will be eight meetings this January. 

On 7 January, the Leicestershire Local Access Forum will take place at 2pm, discussing reports from Planning and Travel Committee, Unrecorded Ways Committee, area surveys, local government reorganisation and updates from committees and working groups for the coming year. 

There will also be the following meetings:  

  • 14 January – 2pm – Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee 
  • 19 January – 2pm – Adults and Communities Overview and Scrutiny Committee 
  • 20 January – 2pm – Highways, Transport and Waste Overview and Scrutiny Committee 
  • 26 January – 2pm – Environment, Flooding and Climate Change Overview and Scrutiny Committee 
  • 28 January – 10am – Scrutiny Commission 
  • 30 January – 10am – Local Pension Committee 

To view the agendas ahead of each meeting, they will be available to view a week before the meeting takes place on the Leicestershire County Council website
