Local charity based at Staunton Harold reservoir in search of new trustees

A charity that offers services to disabled individuals and their families just outside Ashby is looking for new trustees to join their hard-working team.
Based at Staunton Harold Reservoir in Melbourne, this charity offers water-based activities for disabled people of all ages and their families.
This includes learning to sale, riding on powerboats, having a paddle on a katakanu and more.
Along with the water sports, Staunton Harold Sailabilty also has an incredible community of volunteers that give up their time to create memorable and meaningful experiences for families to cherish, giving disabled individuals independence and confidence in safe and supportive environment.

They host regular barbecues, awards nights and land-based activities to accompany the water activities, along with encourage the learning of a new skill in a positive environment.
Posting on Facebook, Staunton Harold Sailability put a call out for new trustees to help manage the workings of the charity.
The post said: 'We need enthusiastic, curious and committed people to join our group of trustees.
'We in particular welcome individuals with a background of or experience with social media and marketing, familiar with grant applications processes, working in the care and support sectors, having first- or second-hand experience of the challenges a disability can throw up.'
This trustee role is voluntary and therefore unpaid, but promises to be fulfilling and rewarding, working at the heart of this small local charity.
