Two men charged following thefts involving vehicles in the Ashby and Donisthorpe areas last year

Two men have since been charged in connection with the reports of a series of thefts from motor vehicles in Ashby and Donisthorpe last October.

Andrew McDonagh, 50, of Red House Gardens, Leicester, has been charged with four counts of attempted theft of a motor vehicle and eight counts of theft of motor vehicle.

He is due to appear before Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 24.

A second man, Patrick McDonagh, 26, of Schoolgate, Leicester, was charged last year with assault on an emergency worker, seven counts of theft from motor vehicle and three counts of attempted theft from motor vehicle.

He appeared before Leicester Magistrates' Court in October and was remanded into custody to appear before Leicester Crown Court at a later date.

The charges relate to incidents in the Ashby, Donisthorpe, Hugglescote, Wigston and Leicester areas.
