Ashby de la Zouch Town Council is seeking the views of people who use the town centre in the evening.

The council is applying to renew its Purple Flag title - an award which reflects excellence in managing the evening and night-time economy.

It says it wants to hear from those who use the area between 5pm and 5am - whether it is for shopping, cultural events, entertainment or leisure.

The council is inviting people to complete a short survey HERE, with a closing date of September 20.

In the survey, you will be asked how many times you use the town centre in the evening, if you feel safe and how it can be improved, among other questions.

Ashby renewed its Purple Flag status in February this year.

At the time, Ashby was praised for its 'fantastic brand extension' by the business sector, clear and proactive initiatives and a picturesque and inviting streetscape.

Cllr John Coxon, leader of Ashby de la Zouch Town Council, said then: "We put a lot of effort in to our submission and we are pleased that the hard work has paid off.

"Ashby is a lovely town to visit, with a vibrant night time economy which caters for all ages.

"Over the past five years we have strived to maintain and exceed the high standards, ensuring we have a safe and welcoming town for everyone to enjoy now and in the future."
