Medical issues and problems never pause on a bank holiday. Luckily some pharmacies across Leicestershire will still be open for people in need of medicines or minor medical advice.

NHS England has published a list of all the pharmacies that will be open in Leicestershire over the August bank holiday.

The list contains the name, address and opening hours of all the pharmacies that will be operating on Monday, August 28.

For Ashby, that includes the facility at Tesco supermarket on Resolution Road.

But Ashby Pharmacy on The Green says it will be closed on Monday, while Boots in Market Street is opening from 10am-4pm.

Residents can visit the pharmacies for non-emergency care advice and medicines. NHS 111 will be accessible over two days for more serious health enquiries. People who take regular prescription medicines are being urged to make sure they have enough ahead of the bank holidays.

The bank holiday weekend comes after a week of disruption at Leicester's hospitals as junior doctors and consultants walked out over pay and conditions.
