Ashby's Big Weekend dominates the event calendar over the next few days.

The Bath Grounds music event returns for a third successive year - and is once again a two-day event.

It was introduced to the town in 2021 and was one of the first events to be held in Ashby as it emerged from lockdown.

This year, the day has been divided into mainly local bands on the Saturday - although the headline is an Elvis Presley tribute, A Vision of Elvis.

Sunday has a slightly more laid back feel - along the lines of previous Proms events, with the Ashby Big Band returning to the Bath Grounds.

Headlining is a Showaddywaddy tribute guaranteed to get people dancing, before some grand finale fireworks.

Ashby de la Zouch's Town Centre Manager, Stuart Benson, says there will be something for everyone.

He said: "There will also be an artisan market at the Bath Grounds on both days, near the South Street entrance.

"The Big Weekend stage area is all ticket, but the market will be free and runs from 10am on both days.

"This event is now becoming a firm favourite in the Ashby calendar and we're sure it'll be as popular as ever this weekend."

You can still buy tickets for the event, just follow this link HERE.

This weekend also sees the first annual Packington Sausage and Cider festival at The Bull & Lion pub in the village.

A variety of local gourmet sausages will be on sale, alongside a selection of traditional ciders and fruit ciders.

Sunday is family fun day with a sausage eating contest, award for best local sausages, visit from Alpacas and donkeys, bouncy castle, live entertainment and face painting.

The Ashby Leisure Centre stages an Antiques Fair at its Hood Park site on Bank Holiday Monday.

It will be packed full of traders offering a vast selection of antiques, collectables and vintage.

This is the perfect opportunity to pick up something special for your collection.

This event is a visitors' and traders' delight, with antiques, jewellery, vintage clothing, homewares, postcards, silver, furniture, old barn finds and so much more.

There is plenty going on at Brew in Market Street over the Bank Holiday weekend.
