Storm Dennis: Floods Hit Hood Court With Ashby and Coalville Fire Crews Called In

Hood Court in Ashby was hit by Flood Water on Sunday morning as Storm Dennis hit the area.

Gilwiskaw Brook overflowed and caused problems around Hood Park.

Hood Court is a sheltered housing area for older people and also serves as a day care centre.

Fire crews from Ashby and Coalville were on the scene and also stopping flood water from getting into the Hood Park Leisure Centre which has recently been refurbished.

Ashby Fire Service posted on their website that they had assistance from a crew from Coalville on the HMEP (Hazardous Materials, Environmental Protection unit).
