Specsavers is set to open its new Ashby store next week after making short Market Street move

Specsavers opticians is set to open the doors to its new premises in Ashby next week.

The store is moving to a larger premises on Market Street, which Specsavers says will help provide improved access to optical and audiology services for the local community.

Just a stone's throw from its previous location, also on Market Street, there will be a three day gap between the old store closing and the new one opening on Thursday, June 22.

Relocating to the former Dean and Smedley building at 55-57 Market Street, the new store will benefit from five testing rooms and a dedicated audiology service that will provide full hearing checks and assessments along with earwax removal.

A state-of-the-art OCT (optical coherence tomography) machine has also been installed, which can help detect treatable eye conditions sooner.

Kuljinder Bains, store director at Specsavers Ashby, said: "There's not long to go now until we open and the whole team is really excited.

"There's lots of hard work going on behind the scenes to get everything ready.

"The new store is going to look really smart and we can't wait to welcome customers through the doors.

"The team at Specsavers Ashby are passionate about providing the best possible service that will benefit the eyes and ears of the local community.

"Across optics and audiology, the team bring a significant amount of knowledge and experience.

"We've also created five new roles as part of the move, bringing the size of the team to 28.

"Not only will the new store benefit our customers, but the staff too, allowing them to flourish and help them to deliver the best possible customer experience."

The store will be open Monday to Friday 9am until 5.30pm, Saturday 8.45am to 5pm and Sunday 9.30am to 5pm.
