This weekend's Ashby events cover a wide range of entertainment and activities hopefully there is something for everyone.

Ashby Pride Day returns this Saturday - and the whole of Market Street and Brook Street will be closed for the occasion.

The event started last year, but now it is much bigger and features a stage with live bands during the day - and playing until 8pm.

Around 4,000 people are expected to attend with a number of local businesses and bars playing their part in the day.

There will be a number of attractions for the whole family.

Callum Prince, Director, Ashby Pride CIC, said: "We wanted to improve on last year's Ashby Pride and we've definitely done that.

The Heather Scarecrow Festival continues before the ideal family event comes to an end this Sunday.

The festival is designed to be walked. The suggested circuit is just under 4.5 miles and takes about two hours to walk without a break. Most families spend four to five hours at the event including refreshment breaks.

It is not possible to get a good view of all the scarecrows from a car and some are displayed in areas where vehicle access is only available to residents.

There is live music in Ashby town centre over the weekend with Brew hosting Lady Rose on Saturday and Phil Vincent on Sunday.
