The Silver Spade at Holy Trinity Church
The Mayor of Ashby is proud to present 'The Silver Spade', a brand new musical celebrating Ashby's rich heritage and industrial past.
Featuring all original songs performed by Calling Time and the Roots Community Singers, the musical tells Ashby's story from humble cottage industries to the proliferation of factories and mines in the area.
Written with guidance and historical insight from Ashby Museum, the production examines the key moments in history that have shaped Ashby into the town we know today.
According to the Mayor, 'this production honours our past with authenticity, care, and deep respect. It is not just a retelling of history, but a heartfelt celebration of the people and stories that live on in the very fabric of our community.'
The Silver Spade will be performed at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday 14 March at 7pm.
Tickets are now on sale from Ticketsource, costing £15 for adults and £9 for children.
