THE third annual Ashby Soapbox event has been declared a tremendous success, as thousands of spectators lined Market Street to enjoy an action-packed day of thrills, spills, and unforgettable entertainment.

Despite occasional showers, the weather remained largely favourable, and the crowds turned out in force to support the 40 teams competing on the course. Visitors enjoyed a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day, with many taking shelter briefly before returning to cheer on the contestants with even greater enthusiasm.

The event continues to grow in popularity each year, with attractions including a large viewing screen displaying live race action, the starting ramp, and live timing updates via a web link, ensuring spectators never missed a moment of the excitement.

Creative designs and impressive engineering were on full display, with teams showcasing an incredible mix of imagination, humour, and determination. Entries were judged by the Mayor of Ashby de la Zouch, Councillor Damilola Ojuri, who praised the creativity and effort demonstrated by all participants.

Organisers have extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make the event such a memorable occasion:

· The dedicated volunteers who gave their time and energy throughout the day
