Signs That Leicestershire Coronavirus Cases Are Falling According To Latest Figures

Across Leicestershire and Leicester, 212 coronavirus cases have been added in the last 24 hour recording period - revealed today (Monday) - the lowest combined total in well over a week.

Fewer than 100 new cases have been reported in Leicester for the first time in more than a month.

The last time the city added less than 100 new cases to its tolls was on October 17, daily totals have risen to more than 340 since then but now do seem to be slowly dropping off.

There have been 98 new cases were recorded in the city, the remaining 14 were spread across the county.

Broken down to district and county area, Blaby added 29 new cases and Charnwood 21.

Hinckley and Bosworth's total increased by 19 and North West Leicestershire's by 18.

Oadby and Wigston added ten new cases, Harborough added nine and in Melton, eight new infections were identified.

The new cases, updated today at 4pm, mean that the total number of cases across the city and county since the start of the pandemic area by area are :

•Leicester: 17,519

•Blaby: 3,110

•Charnwood: 6,295

•Harborough: 2,029

•Hinckley and Bosworth: 2,497

•Melton: 1,120

•North West Leicestershire: 2,313

•Oadby and Wigston: 2,443

The latest seven-day infection rates, area by area, are:

•Leicester: 317.6 cases per 100,000

•Blaby: 236.4 cases per 100,000

•Charnwood: 148 cases per 100,000

•Harborough: 216.4 cases per 100,000

•Hinckley and Bosworth: 114.9 cases per 100,000

•Melton: 187.5 cases per 100,000

•North West Leicestershire: 206.5 cases per 100,000

•Oadby and Wigston: 368.3 cases per 100,000

Daily increases over the last week:

•Saturday November 28 and Sunday November 29 (combined total): 543

•Friday, November 27: 306

•Thursday, November 26: 387

•Wednesday, November 25: 420

•Tuesday, November 24: 261

•Monday, November 23: 389

•Sunday, November 22: 443
