Severn Trent: Why Your Water Pressure Was Low On Thursday Morning

Severn Trent Water have explained why some people in the Ashby area may have been having low water pressure on Thursday morning.

They explained that strong overnight winds caused a power cut at one of their water treatment works,

Severn Trent issued a statement which said: "We'd like to say sorry to anyone in the Leicestershire area who is experiencing poor pressure this morning - we know how difficult that can be at this time of day.

"Last night a tree fell onto a power line and caused a power cut at one of our water treatment works meaning that the site couldn't operate for several hours.

"Power is now restored and the works is back up and running, but it will take a short while to fill up our pipe network.

"This means that some of our customers are experiencing low pressure at the moment. We expect this to be only for an hour or so, so we'd ask people to bear with us for just a little while.

"Once again, we're so sorry for any inconvenience."
