Road works in Ashby town centre this month are expected to last for a fortnight with temporary signals set up

Road works will be in place at a key Ashby junction from next week until the beginning of August.

Leicestershire County Council has agreed to a a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order at Market Street, Lower Church Street and South Street;

A road closure, prohibition of waiting and loading, and suspension of the oneway system will be in place for two weeks from July 18 for two weeks:

This means that, in Market Street, there will be a prohibition of waiting and loading in parking bays from outside No.73 to No. 85

In Lower Church Street, there will be a road closure at its junction with Market Street

The suspension of the one-way system will be South Street rom Lower Church Street to the Car Park

These works will also require temporary signals on Market Street.

Leicestershire County Council says the works will be 'implemented for public safety' to carry out footway drainage works on Market Street.

The proposed alternative diversion route will be via: Market Street, Bath Street, South Street, and vice versa.
