Police report an increase in number of burglaries and thefts in Ashby over a two-week period

A number of break-ins, burglaries and thefts have been highlighted by the police in Ashby.

The incidents are listed on the Neighbourhood Alert network and urge residents to beware of future offences which have been taking place in the early hours of the morning.

Police say there has been an increase in the incidents over the past two weeks and said which roads have been targeted.

The message issued today (Wednesday) says: "Over the past two weeks we have had an increase in house break-ins , attempt burglaries and vehicle thefts in the Ashby area

"Offences have taken place in the following locations.

• ROUEN WAY

• SPRING AVENUE

• NOTTINGHAM ROAD

• ABBOTSFORD RD 

• PRIORFIELDS

"Seen at the time of some of these incidents has been a three-door, light blue, Seat Leon or Vauxhall Astra type vehicle.

"These sightings have been in the early hours of the morning.

"If you see any suspicious activity please call the police immediately."
