Police Make Appeal For Information After Measham Car Smash

Leicestershire Police are appealing for information after a man was left with serious injuries following a collision in Swepstone Road, Measham, on Sunday.

Police were called to the incident involving a red Renault Megane car, which happened near the junction with the B4116, just before 4.40am.

The car had left the road before colliding with a tree.

East Midlands Ambulance Service and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance at the scene.

The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he currently remains with serious injuries.

Enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the incident are continuing and officers are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.

Detective Constable Charlotte Wright said: "We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicle prior to the collision to make contact with us.

"Please think back to if you were in the area during the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday).

"If you have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the area, we also urge you to check this and make contact with us."

Anyone with any information should contact 101 quoting incident 117 of 14 June.
