Police issue warning about 'dangerous' parking ahead of this week's Scarecrow Festival in Heather

North West Leicestershire Police have warned they will clamp down on 'dangerous' parking at this week's Scarecrow Festival in Heather.

The village has hosted two music events this week - and police have been quick to point out that some motorists' inappropriate parking.

There is also a warning that vehicles could be seized during the week-long scarecrow festival which begins tomorrow (Sunday).

A social media post from North West Leicestershire Police reads: "We have been blessed with the weather today (Saturday) for the Music Festivals in Heather.

"We have not been so blessed by the nature of people's parking.

"With the Scarecrow Festival starting tomorrow, we urge people to be considerate when parking.

"There is ample parking available at St John's Football Club on Ravenstone Road.

"We urge people to make use of this free parking.

"Parking on a pavement is not only inconsiderate, but dangerous to pedestrians, especially those with children and disabilities.

"Officers from the local beat team will be on patrol and may ask you to move if you are found to be parking inappropriately.

"Vehicles causing a danger to other road users or obstructing access can be seized without notice."
