North West Leicestershire Police are investigating a report of hare coursing in Snarestone.

The incident is believed to have happened in the area of Appleby Lane on Monday (Nov 2) at around 3pm.

It was said to involve two males with a blue Isuzu Trooper Turbo.

The Police have issued an appeal saying: "Did you see or hear anything at this time?

"Please bear this vehicle in mind and report any suspicious activity within your surrounding area and note description details and vehicle registrations where possible.

"When information such as the above is received by our Rural Team, it enables us to adapt our patrol plan."

Hare coursing is the pursuit of hares with greyhounds and other sighthounds, which chase the hare by sight, not by scent.

In recent decades, controversy has developed around hare coursing, with some viewing it as a cruel bloodsport.
