Full Details Of How You Can Watch Ashby's Online Remembrance Day Service This Sunday

Ashby will stage an online Remembrance Day service this Sunday with the traditional Market Street parade cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

The usual commemorations cannot go ahead this year which means Ashby's memorial was called off last month.

Ashby Parade will not take place this year.

But, with residents urged to 'Remember From Home' on Sunday, Ashby will be holding a virtual remembrance leading up to two minutes' silence at 11am.

You will be able to access a pre-recorded film which will be shown on the Facebook pages of St Helen's Church, The Flagstaff Family of Churches and Ashby de la Zouch Town Council.

The film starts at 10.47 so that it co-incides with the two minutes' silence which would normally be observed impeccably on a crisp, Autumn morning.

It will include:

•The St Helen's Church Choir

•A wreath laying at the War Memorial in Ashby

•A British Legion Standard bearer

•Two minutes' silence

•The Last Post and Reveille

The poster shown here says that: 'It's so sad we can't commemorate Remembrance this year', with the response 'Oh, but we can'.

It means that the whole of Ashby and beyond can watch the service online despite the current Covid-19 restrictions.
