Police Investigating Ashby Doorstep Parcel Theft

The theft took place in Marlborough Way in Ashby

Police are investigating a report of someone stealing a parcel from outside an Ashby address.

A member of the public said that the item went missing soon after it had been delivered.

Witnesses reported a man with a woman and child in the area at the time.

Parcels were being delivered in the area and this particular theft is said to have happened along the same route.

The police were called in an attempt to prevent further thefts taking of this kind taking place - particularly in the run-up to Black Friday and Christmas.

There is thought to be CCTV evidence which has been shown to police.

A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "We have received a report of a parcel having been taken from outside an address in Marlborough Way, Ashby.

"It is believed to have happened at around 11.20am yesterday (Monday 23 November).

"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the report are in the early stages."
