Police were called out to an Ashby pub on Friday afternoon after a report that an 'intoxicated' man was trying to get in.

Leicestershire Police say they attended an incident at a pub in Market Street.

It was named in social media comments as the Shoulder of Mutton Wetherspoons pub - but police would not confirm this.

A spokesman for Leicestershire police said: "We were called at around 4.30pm on Friday (31 July) following a report that an intoxicated man was trying to get into a pub in Market Street.

"However he left the scene before police arrived."
