Police broke up a group of under-age drinkers letting off fireworks at Staunton Harold Reservoir last night (Saturday).

Officers seized alcohol - including vodka bottle and cans of beer - and took some of the youngsters back home to their parents.

A social media post by Melbourne and Mercia Police Safer Neighbourhood Team explained what happened at the South Derbyshire beauty spot.

It reads: "If there's something strange, in the neighbourhood, who you gonna call?

"We had reports of anti-social behaviour at Staunton Harold tonight (Saturday).

"If you are going to be letting fireworks off and drinking under-age, make sure the A Team are not stood behind you!

"Positive action taken, group dispersed, alcohol seized, several youths taken home to their parents where no doubt more fireworks will occur.

"Parents please check where your children are going on these cold dark nights and remind them of the Covid-19 regulations, you may end up with a ticket if not!"
