Designated pharmacies in Ashby will be open across the festive season to allow people to collect prescriptions and buy over-the-counter medicines.

The holidays are a time of joy, but with elevated levels of flu, Covid and other illnesses flying around, people may find themselves in need of medicines.

Fortunately, a number of pharmacies are set to be open on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day so you can buy what you need across the county.

But Ashby has two designated stores open on Christmas Day and Boxing Day - Ashby Pharmacy and Dean and Smedley at Castle Medical.

However, people are being urged to still plan ahead when it comes to repeat prescriptions and any over-the-counter medicines expected to be needed as Christmas is a busy time across health services.
