The Lyric Rooms owners, the Perkins family, are preparing to celebrate their first year in charge of the much-loved Ashby venue.

Since last September, they have put their stamp on and transformed the Lyric Rooms into a beautiful, modern and stylish setting.

From comedy nights, tribute evenings, to private parties and wedding receptions, Matt and Vanessa Perkins - along with daughters Celleste and Fleur - have created a place for everyone to enjoy.

But they have no intention of stopping there. In fact, continuing with the impressive progress they have made, a civil licence to hold wedding ceremonies in the beautiful and historic old school chapel nestled at the rear of the premises is imminent.

If you have not been for a while, the entire venue has been completely refurbishmed with new decor, carpets and flooring.

The next phase of the refurbishment is being undertaken in the next few weeks and will see a complete transformation to the ceiling area with bespoke drapes and twinkling lights behind, together with new chandelier centrepieces.

Whilst the focus is gearing towards weddings starting next year, the Lyric Rooms is still running a number of different events such as the popular family Disney Princess afternoon teas, a family Harry Potter evening in October, and also an Oktoberfest style night with the fantastic modern Ukulele band The Strumtroopers.

Matt added: "These events are different to other places where you'd go for the food, and then maybe go somewhere else for entertainment.

"Here it's all in one, which is unique to the area.

"We have a fabulous and friendly team of excellent staff who have all played a big role in helping to make venue what it is today.

"A lot of our customers are local and can walk to the venue, however we have now partnered with the lovely team at Ivanhoe school who have agreed to let our customers use their secure car parking facilities for future large events & weddings.
