Ashby School says exam passes are 'an amazing achievement' after difficulties caused by Covid disruption
Ashby School says its A level students achieved a pass rate of over 97 per cent from this year's exams.
It adds that 13 per cent recorded three A/A* grades.
The school's website reports that A level and GCSE students have been celebrating exam success, 'at the end of a challenging few years for everyone in education'.
Ashby School says that sixth Form students, who missed their GCSE exams due to Covid, achieved a pass rate of 97.5 per cent across a range of A levels and equivalent qualifications with 13 per cent achieving three A/A* grades - describing it as 'an amazing achievement'.
Following their results, many students will move on to Russell Group universities and other higher education institutions to study a range of subjects, including medicine, law and economics.
Many more students successfully secured employment or apprenticeship places, including opportunities with Rolls Royce and Jaguar Land Rover.
A total of 507 Year 11 students sat GCSEs at Ashby School this year.
Of these, says the school, more than 60 per cent achieved passes at grades 9 – 4 in at least five subjects, including maths and English.
Students returned more than 300 A/A* grades, with the school saying it is 'a fantastic achievement, particularly against the national picture.'
Destinations include Ashby School Sixth Form, further education colleges and apprenticeships.
Headteacher Dr Jude Mellor said: "To have come through the challenging last few years in education and to have achieved so well is a real testament to our students' resilience.
"We are really pleased to see so many students progressing onto amazing next steps both within further education and beyond. We wish them all the very best and are delighted that so many of our GCSE students will continue their journey with us at Ashby Sixth Form!"
