Over 250 volunteers to take part in a district-wide clean up across North West Leicestershire this week

The week of the Monday 30th June to Sunday 6th July, over 250 volunteers will take part in a district wide clean up as part of Love Your Neighbourhood Week of Action.
North West Leicestershire District Council launched the Love Your Neighbourhood Week of Action to celebrate the incredible community spirit shown by local volunteers.
Over the course of the week, 298 volunteers will be giving back to their neighbourhoods with activities such as litter picks, planting projects, community clean-ups and creative events.
This comes after the positive response from local people to community grants being made available for free litter picking kits.
Although grants and equipment applications are now closed, residents can still join the growing team of volunteers and log their hours on the District Council website to demonstrate the power and support in our communities.
Councillor Michael Wyatt, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Climate Change at NWLDC said: "It's great to see the enthusiasm and dedication of our communities.
"The Week of Action is a fantastic opportunity to come together and make a real difference to the place we live, work, and enjoy. Whether it is a small litter pick or large-scale community event, every action counts."
