MP for North West Leicestershire and founding member of Labour Rural Research Group (LLRG) Amanda Hack is calling on residents to participate in a vital consultation.

The LLRG formed to strengthen the Labour Party's commitment and advocacy for rural areas, with Hack being one of the founding members.

This is the LLRG's first major project, and the consultation hopes to better understand the key challenges and priorities affecting people living and working in the countryside.

Speaking about the launch of this consultation, Amanda Hack said: "Having been part of this group since its inception, I'm proud of the work to highlight our countryside communities and ensure they are at the heart of the national conversation.

"This work is more than just identifying problems; it's about building practical, progressive solutions that reflect the realities of rural life. Areas such as North West Leicestershire must play a crucial role in delivering our ambition growth mission and drive for better infrastructure.

"Our communities have long felt overlooked or misunderstood by national politics. This is a crucial first step in changing that. It gives people the chance to share their lived experiences and shape real, evidence-based policies that support rural economies, protect vital services, and help our communities thrive. Whether it's access to healthcare, transport, jobs, housing or sustainable farming, we want to hear directly from those living it every day."

The consultation, which is open until mid-July, is anonymous and takes just a few minutes to complete. The findings will form the basis of the group's first report, due before Parliamentary recess and build a robust, evidence-based policy platform that reflects the lived realities of rural life.
