Candidates for next month's Leicestershire County Council elections have been officially confirmed.

North West Leicestershire has been divided into eight wards for the vote on May 1.

The election comes ahead of a reorganisation of local government across the county over the next few years.

In the meantime, the vote is likely to be an indicator of the public's opinion on differing political parties.
