A road closure is planned for Leicester Road in Ashby for Monday, February 13, so that Network Rail can safely carry out bridge inspections.

The section affected will be between The Croft and Abbotsford Road and the closure is not expected to last more than one day.

Work is likely to take place between 8am-4pm.

Whether the work is connected to the Ivanhoe Line being given the go-ahead is unclear.

Network Rail has also been carrying out work on the level crossing in Coalville which also forms part of the planned route between Burton and Leicester.
