A survey published by Oxford University shows 59.6% of residents are proud to live in North West Leicestershire, with over 60% feeling like the belong in the area.
The National Conversation Survey invited people from across the UK to rate how lonely they feel, how many neighbours they feel they can trust and how proud they are about the community they live in, whether that be a town, village or city.
The hopes for the National Conversation Survey was to create resources that shows how people feel about where they live, rather than focussing on demographic or voting statistics.
The survey ranked North West Leicestershire as 136th out of 296 towns and neighbourhoods for friendliness, with the Isles of Scilly being ranked the friendliest place in the UK.
Over 80% of people in Ashby said people of different backgrounds get on well there, which is in line with the national average.
The survey also found that 72.4% of residents surveyed chat to their neighbours often and just 5% said they feel lonely often.
