Motorists using routes through village near Ashby face around two months of delays starting next week

Motorists face two months of delays in Blackfordby beginning next week.

Leicestershire Highways says a road closure is required on Butt Lane between Forest Road and its end near to Hepworth Road on February 21 for eight weeks.

Closures are scheduled to be in place daily for eight hour spells, between 8am and 4pm.

Access will be maintained where possible, but there may be delays allowing for plant and machinery to be moved to allow vehicles to pass.

The Temporary Traffic Regulation Order is on behalf of Owl Homes to work on storm and sewer connections.

In addition, main route linking Blackfordby with the Ashby by-pass and the road to Woodville will be closed over two day period next week.

Leicestershire Highways says the road from Main Street to Heath Lane will be affected for almost six hours on the given days.

The closure is required at the these locations between the A511 and Elstead Lane on February 21 for two days.

Closures will be in place between 9am and 2.45pm each day.

The alternative diversion route will be via: A511 Ashby Road, Hepworth Road, Forest Road, Butt Lane and vice versa.
