A man in his 30s was knocked unconscious during an assault in an Ashby bar.

Leicestershire Police have now released an image of a man they want to speak in connection with the attack (below).

Police have not confirmed the location of the bar - other than saying it is in Market Street.

A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: "Detectives are investigating an incident in which a man was punched inside a bar in Ashby – and have released an image of a man they want to speak to.

This is an image of the man officers want to identify following the attack in an Ashby de la Zouch bar

"It happened inside premises in Market Street between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday, July 31.

"The victim, a man in his 30s, was knocked unconscious as a result of the attack.

PC Paul Kendrick, the investigating officer, said: "I believe the man pictured may have information about this incident which could help.

"If you recognise him and know who he is, or that person is you, then please get in touch."
