A man has been charged with murdering his mum in Linton, South Derbyshire.

In an announcement by Swadlincote Police, the Force said that 52-year-old Adrian Hardy has now been charged with the murder of his mother.

Officers were called to reports that a woman had been found with stab wounds at a property in The Crest, Lincoln, Swadlincote, at just after 2.30pm on Sunday 21 June.

Joan Hardy, age 72, was pronounced dead at the scene and Police reported that a man had been arrested.

Derbyshire Constabulary put out an appeal for information and for any CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage on The Crest.

On 21 July, Police announced that Joan's son Adrian Hardy has been charged with her murder.
