Man arrested on suspicion of murdering 72-year-old woman in Linton

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 72-year-old woman was found dead with stab wounds at a property in Linton.
Derbyshire Constabulary were called to reports of a woman has been found with stab wounds at The Crest in Linton, Swadlincote, just after 2.30pm on Sunday 21 June.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her family has been made aware and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 52-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and was taken into police custody.
Detective Inspector Tony Owen, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), who is leading the investigation, said: 'Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence in the area whilst we carry out our enquiries.
'We are aware that this may cause some concern in the community but I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident.
'If you have any concerns or would like to pass on any information, please feel free to approach officers.'
The police are keen to hear from anyone who has CCTV, Ring doorbell or dash cam footage which covers The Crest between 12.01am on Saturday 20 June and 3pm on Sunday 21 June.
